As we see in other societies around the world, the percentage of businesses owned or managed by women in the United States is not proportional to the percentage of the population of women in the United States. This ratio is even lower in Turkey and other developing countries. Same disparity can be seen between income earned by women versus men in many countries. The long term purpose of our organization is to organize and empower Turkish American women through networking, educating them about the business opportunities in the US and patronize businesses owned by women both in the US and Turkey. In the short term, we will focus on promoting our new association, reaching Turkish American women business owners and women in management starting from our backyard in Miami, increasing our membership and forming a strong and well diversified management team. I strongly believe that the biggest impact achieved in advancing any cause is through education. Therefore, in the long run, we plan to invest in educating our young girls, starting as early as primary school. Our door is always open to you.
